As a leased line provider we’re often asked
why we’d recommend it over standard broadband. In some cases, admittedly, it
may not be needed but in order to understand why it can be better let’s use an
analogy:
Let’s imagine the internet is a huge office building
and to get to each floor you need to use the elevator. While there are a few of
them you’re not the only company that needs to navigate the building so during
peak hours you’ll have to wait for an elevator and even when it arrives, you
might have a slower journey to your destination if it has to make many stops.
This might be alright for some journeys but
others are likely to be incredibly time sensitive so when you add on top the
potential of one of the lifts breaking down or requiring maintenance it creates
a bottleneck that no one wants to deal with.
Traditional internet connections share
bandwidth between several users but having a leased line is like walking into
that aforementioned hypothetical office building and having one of those
elevators off limits for everyone but you and your business.
A leased line
provider like Luminet could then make sure you’ve got your business
broadband set up to your exact specifications, delivering the speeds and
services you require without compromise. If you’re running complex applications
and processes over your internet connection and even VoIP systems it quickly
becomes business critical to have a reliable fast connection that delivers
exactly what you need, when you need it.
